Coffee beans grow on an attractive little plant with glossy green leaves and a compact growth habit. In their native habitat, they like to grow into medium-sized trees, but the plants are regularly pruned to a more manageable size by coffee plantation growers. If you want to grow a coffee tree inside, you will have to take that pruning to another level and keep the plant truly small. Note that you cannot grow coffee from the beans you buy in a store; those have been treated and roasted and will not sprout.
Ardesia thrive in bright, sunny rooms, but don’t like too much direct sunlight. Place them in rooms with south facing windows, but keep them out of direct sunlight. The Ardesia plant should stay evenly moist, meaning the soil should never be completely dry or overly wet. Over-watering can lead to a whole host of problems. The amount of water your plant will need depends on a lot of factors: the amount of light it receives, the temperature of the room, humidity levels, among other things. A good rule of thumb would be to water the plant once a week and adjust according to how quickly the soil dries. Eventually you should be able to get into a watering routine based on the plant needs. Do not keep the plant in standing water for more than 15 minutes as this can lead to root rot and pests.
The Arbacola, or dwarf umbrella tree is a broad-leaved evergreen shrub belonging to the family Araliaceae and hailing from Taiwan and Hainan. As a houseplant, the umbrella plant is well-placed in a southern, western or eastern window receiving curtain-filtered light for three or four hours daily. When kept indoors, take care not to allow the temperature surrounding the plant to drop lower than 55° degrees Fahrenheit throughout the wintertime.
Creeping Fig - An easy-care solution for covering unsightly fences. Vigorous growing, dense branches cling firmly to any surface. A handsome choice for climbing walls, pillars, arbors and fences. Small, leathery, dark green leaves mature into large, thick leaves; prune the mature foliage to promote new juvenile growth. Evergreen.
With the allumium plants easy going nature and lack of any real growing problems, it will bush out from its container in leaves of silver and green for up to four years before it dies. The leaves are normally squat and broad, measuring up to 12 inches (30 cm) long and up to 8 inches (21 cm) wide. The root system is extensive, and will break containers if it needs more room. This root system must be observed on an annual basis in order to re-pot before pot breakage occurs.
