"This is "Reed Dancer". He is a Least Bittern, the smallest relative of the Great Blue Heron. I am particularly excited about this piece as it has so many of the attributes that I am looking for from my sculpture. The bird has a balance to it that says imminent movement. The reeds come out of the base and present the bird gracefully without being intrusive yet frame the entire work and give it an organically geometric presence. The sculpture is very tall and wide on a small base (only 5 x 5) and yet because of the balance of the work it is incredibly stable. The bird itself is handsome, fierce, focused, and has a great story to tell." - from the artist, Jim Green
